Summer 2011

Exhibition

Last weekend was another successful exhibition with18 paintings sold, even though we had less exhibited this year. We made a small profit of £57, which will boost our funds just a little!

A huge thank you to those who gave up their Friday evening and Saturday morning to set the exhibition up, and also to those who helped over the weekend – it looked fabulous.

There was a steady flow of visitors, many who took a break with a tea and cake from the servery. Thanks to Sheila for her fabulous scones and to all who made a scrumptious cake!
Picture
Christine Stainer won favourite picture with ‘A Quiet Corner’, a wonderful oil painting.

The raffle prize, an encaustic wax painting by Linda Lambert, was won by villager Ken Budgen.

Adie's News

Following Adie’s exciting future plans, our penultimate meeting on Monday 18th July will be a chance for us to discuss and put forward our views on the way forward for September. Although we are sad not to have Adie with us every Monday and wish her well at this new stage in her life, it is a super opportunity for us to branch out and try new things. And of course we await with bated breath the interesting ideas Adie will bring back when she is with us! Please try to come on the 18th as it is YOUR club and your input is invaluable.

End of Term & AGM

Monday 25th July is our last evening before the summer break. We return in September, beginning with the AGM on Monday 5th September, venue to be decided. Please try to come along – it’s very informal, glass of wine, nibbles and post mortem of the past year….

Room for New Members

We do have room for new members at the moment. Please tell your friends and neighbours what a great group we are!

On the Web

Once again Alan has done a wonderful job with our web site. There are already pictures from the exhibition for visitors to view. Do take a look. (webmasters note: I guess you just did...)

We now also have a group page on the SAA web site, with information and contact details.
